Are you curious about how many hotel rooms are in Las Vegas? Well, then, look no further!

I’ve gathered the most up-to-date statistics from local and reputable sources, like the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.

I also did my own analysis and research to bring you unique lodging insights you won’t find anywhere else.

So, without further ado, let’s get into the numbers!

Las Vegas’ Hotel Room Count

As of the end of November 2024, 150,859 hotel rooms are in the Las Vegas area, down 0.95% from the same time in 2023.

This reduction is primarily due to the closure of the Tropicana in April and the Mirage in July.

The number of hotel rooms in Las Vegas is 150,859

Growth Over Time

The number of rooms has remained relatively consistent over the last several years.

From January 2018 to November 2024, total inventory has increased by 4,144 suites, with the two largest contributors being Fontainebleau and Resorts World.

Chart showing how room inventory has grown over time

The dip in the graph is due to COVID restrictions. In March 2020, Las Vegas casinos were ordered to shut down to help slow the spread.

After roughly 2.5 months, they were allowed to reopen on June 4, 2020. Some hotels stayed closed longer than that, though.

But, others, like Texas Station, became permanent casualties and were demolished.

Las Vegas Room Year-End Inventory & YoY Change:

  • 2023: 154,662 (+2.52%)
  • 2022: 150,857 (+0.25%)
  • 2021: 150,487 (+5.15%)
  • 2020: 143,117 (-4.22%)
  • 2019: 149,422 (+1.48%)
  • 2018: 147,238

Rooms On The Strip

To determine how many rooms are on The Strip, it’s important first to define its geographic location:

Most locals describe The Strip as the roughly 4.2-mile stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard that connects the north end to the south.

In terms of landmarks, it runs between The Strat and the Welcome to Las Vegas sign – or approximately from Sahara Ave to Russell Rd.

So, to calculate the total number, I identified every hotel along this stretch and added up the suites at each.

As of January 2025, there are 37 hotels on the Las Vegas Strip, totaling 85,612 rooms.

Strip Hotels By Room Count

The table below shows the current number of rooms at each Strip property.

Please note that this table lists resorts on The Strip with a Las Vegas Blvd address.

That means hotels within a block or two, like Vdara, Trump International, and Elara by Hilton, are not included.

Additionally, the following counts are the room totals only and do not include any timeshare inventory. (I’ve put the timeshare numbers in the next section.)

The number of suites at each resort may occasionally vary due to renovations or new additions.

The Signature at MGM Grand is also near Las Vegas Blvd. It has 730 hotel rooms.

How Much Timeshare Inventory?

The Strip has 2,010 units of timeshare inventory at the following properties:

  • Hilton Grand Vacations at the Flamingo: 274
  • Hilton Grand Vacations on LV Strip: 803
  • Hilton Vacation Club Polo Towers: 663
  • The Jockey Club: 270

Total Las Vegas Strip Room Inventory:

Available Hotel Rooms (85,612) + Timeshare Inventory (2,010) = 87,622

More FAQs About Vegas Hotels

How Many Hotels Does Las Vegas Have?

As of January 1, 2025, there are a total of 278 hotels in Las Vegas.

What Hotel In Vegas Has The Most Rooms?

MGM Grand is the largest resort in Las Vegas, with 4,997 suites. My chart below shows the top 10 largest Las Vegas hotels by room count.

However, it’s worth mentioning that some people consider hotels with connected sister properties to be the same resort.

So, in that case, the top 3 largest Las Vegas properties would be as follows:

  • The Venetian & The Palazzo: 7,093
  • MGM Grand & The Signature at MGM Grand*: 6,725
  • Encore & Wynn: 4,750

*The Signature at MGM Grand has 998 timeshare units and 730 hotel rooms, for a total of 1,728.

And then the Top 10 Largest Resorts chart would change as follows:

How Many Years Would It Take To Sleep In Every Hotel Room In Las Vegas?

It would take a person 413 years to sleep in every hotel room in Vegas. Here’s the calculation:

Number of rooms: 150,859

Divided by number of days in a year: 365.2422

Total years: 413.04

New Properties To Be Completed In 2025

According to the city’s Construction Bulletin, no new Strip resorts will be completed in 2025.

However, a few hotels will open in the Las Vegas market this year, adding 742 rooms to the overall inventory.

The most notable is Otonomus at Russell Road and Decatur, just seven minutes from Allegiant Stadium.

Otonomus is set to open in March of 2025 and features apartment-like suites with kitchens and dining spaces.

This property is a collaboration with Airbnb and offers a unique concept that focuses on sustainability and AI technology.

The next project is Element LV, which will also be completed in March. Finally, two more properties (AC by Marriott and Element by Westin) will open in Symphony Park in September.

Conclusion

Well, that does it for my hotel performance roundup! As a local who has lived here for almost seven years, seeing how much the city is growing has been mind-blowing.

The addition of new sports arenas, event venues, and attractions like Universal Studios will draw even more visitors in the future, creating a need for more properties.

I’m most excited about the boutique and luxury resort Dream Las Vegas. Although the completion date is TBD, it’s already under construction on The Strip!
